- Sunday pancake Breakfast to benefit St. Vincent de Paul food pantry
Laconia Rotary Club is hosting a pancake breakfast to support the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry on Sunday March 14 at the Belknap Mill from 8 a.m. to noon. All proceeds will go to St. Vincent's to assist them with their food pantry, which provides food to the needy in the community.
In addition Rotary is asking all attendees to bring a personal care item (hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc), which also will be given to St. Vincent's for them to distribute. The menu for the meal will be all you can eat pancakes with fresh maple syrup, and sausages, at a cost of $5 per person, or $20 for a family. Gary Dionne, chairman of this event for Laconia Rotary, said, "The current economy still weak and there are more and more people who need help, now more than ever. Laconia Rotary is committed to improving our local community and this is just another way of us accomplishing that goal." The Pancake Breakfast is a great opportunity for everyone to have a great meal and support an organization that does good things for the less fortunate in our community."
Jo Carignan, St. Vincent dePaul's food pantry director said, "Late Winter is a time of year when our shelves get depleted but the need is still strong, so we really appreciate the help with restocking." Laconia Rotary is a member of Rotary International, an international service organization that is open to membership to all individuals. Its objectives are to encourage and foster opportunities for service, high ethical standards in business and professions, and advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace. The club meets at noon on Thursday at the Belknap Mill. For further information about Rotary, call Dionne at 528-5715.
