Events Calendar
- Annual meeting of the Belknap County Economic Development Council
Annual meeting of the Incorporators of the Belknap County Economic Development Council (BCEDC) - Wednesday, March 24, at the Inn at Church Landing in Meredith, starting at 4:15 p.m.
More than 150 community leaders from across the region are expected to turn out to celebrate achievements during a difficult year characterize by dogged determination, perseverance, and hard work.
For the first time this year, the council will hold a raffle, with the winner receiving a two-night getaway to the new Common Man Inn in Claremont, located in a renovated historic mill buildings on the banks of the Sugar River, along with a dining gift card, compliments of the Common Man Family of Restaurants.
Registration is required for the annual event. Anyone wishing to attend the annual meeting or learn more about any of the Council's services should contact the Belknap County Economic Development Council at 524-3057.
- Diabetes Clinic
On Wednesday, March 24th from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Laconia Senior Center a Diabetes Clinic will be held. LRGHealthcare's Diabetes Center will have a Certified Educator and Registered Dietitian to answer your questions. Bring in your meters and Dick Smith will check them to confirm they are working properly and up to date. If your meter is to old or not working properly a new meter will be given FREE OF CHARGE. If you would like to purchase a of pair diabetic shoes, Regal Medical Supply will have their representative Stephen Jones here to fit you. If you have concerns about your pharmacy needs Walgreens will have Pharmacist, Wes Crockett to help you.
- Fences & Neighbors: NH's Immigration Stories
The Humanities Council invites you to a 6 week series of conversations called "Fences & Neighbors: NH's Immigration Stories." in Laconia on Wednesdays from 5:30 - 7:30pm, on the following dates; 3/24, 3/31, 4/7, 4/14, 4/21, and 4/28. Each week we share a meal provided by the Humanities Council and then engage in group conversation guided by trained facilitators. The sessions are free and preregistration is required, It is asked that anyone registering make a firm committment to participate for the full 6 weeks since the group dynamic is vital to the programs success. The facilitators are Peter Cooke and Faten Alhassun; and the program will be held in the Auditorium at the Library. 603-224-4071 www.nhhc.org

- Red Cross 'Safe On My Own' Class at Pines Community Center
The American Red Cross presents the 'Safe On My Own' program for kids ages 8-11 Wednesday March 24th from 3:30-6pm at the Pines Community Center in Northfield. Cost is $22 per person. Pre-registration is required. Call The Pines at 286-8653.
- Single Stream Recycling Comes to Franklin
Members of the Recycling Education Committee will present a DVD and answer your questions regarding the new curbside single-stream recycling process which commences in Franklin in April.
