• Franklin Single Stream Recycling Starts
  The new Automated Containerized Trash and Recycling Collection Program is coming to Franklin and is currently scheduled to start on April 19. The city will be implementing this new program to dispose of waste and recyclables and bring many benefits, including ease of use, cost reductions for taxpayers over the current method, cleaner look, fewer instances of animal interference and going GREEN! The City will be sending out an informational mailing late in February and the new automated pick-up trash and recycling bins will be delivered to residents beginning April 5. As a concerned citizen, there are many ways in which you can help this effort. The Recycling Committee is looking for opportunities to present information regarding this program to as many citizens as possible prior to the launch of the program. If you are part of a community organization that has meetings, the committee would like to attend a meeting to present information on the new program to your members. If your club or group is having an event, the committee is available to set up an information table at the event. The committee is also seeking opportunities to give presentations and to set up public informational displays at Franklin businesses.
